1999-2000 RB Header install - Canada washer tank doesn't fit

Post by bingo »

Hi

I recently installed my RB 4-1 header in my 1999 Canadian base model miata.

On my car the windsheild washer bottle is big enough to take about 4 litres of fluid and is located on the left next to the brake & clutch master cylinders. This means it interferes with the #4 pipe on the header. From what I can tell researching this online it's only a problem with Canadian models.

I have found some posts suggesting a tank from an ABS-equipped car will work, but it's hard to find an ABS washer fluid reservoir for a reasonable price. If I can find the details (and parts?) it might be better to convert to the US standard install.

Where do most US miata's have the washer fluid tank located, does anyone have a good picture?

Use the 2.0L US model that you can purchase at your dealer.

Look on the left side of the picture... :?
