bilstein hd confusion

Post by twowheeled »

I'm thinking of pairing a set of bilstein HD shocks with progress springs. However, I'm a little confused as to whether the ones on this site are the right model to use.

I recall sometime ago there was a topic on these HD's, and there were two different models. One for use with stock springs and one shorter body for use with lowering springs. Not sure which particular one this set is? Tire rack lists two different model #'s for the bilstein as well, called "Sport" and "HD" respectively.

The Bilstein MX5 "Heavy Duty"is the standard replacement.

The Bilstein "SPORT" for MX5 is the best choice for lowering springs.
