Hi , Brian I'm new to the NC as I have read in Miata.net and Mazda talk that late RX8 BBKs are direct bolt on for the NC ?
How late is late meaning starting from which year ?
There is a guy with 4 pot BBK on his 2007 RX8 trying to off load in our local Club .

Yes, any brake kit that bolts to RX8 will bolt to NC because your NC is just a shortened RX8 platform. I have RX8 Moton coilovers in one of our track NCs, and RX8 brakes on it.
This does NOT mean that the brakes will fit your wheels!

Re: RX8 BBK on NC2 Questions ?
oh so does that mean rx-8 coilovers will work on the NC as well?
Re: RX8 BBK on NC2 Questions ?
Yes, though it is not perfect. Front coilovers are same length. Rear are just slightly long for the NC. That's one parameter that changed slightly.

Re: RX8 BBK on NC2 Questions ?
what would one have to do in order to make the rear work with the NC?
Re: RX8 BBK on NC2 Questions ?
You don't have to do anything. But, rear install may be tough if using a high pressure unit like a Moton. Then it becomes a two-man job to get it in there.grey_NC wrote:what would one have to do in order to make the rear work with the NC?

Re: RX8 BBK on NC2 Questions ?
How much stronger are the stock rx-8 brakes than the mx-5?
are all the brakes on the rx-8 (04-09) the same? as long as it is the sport trim?

Re: RX8 BBK and Diff on NC2 Questions ?
Not sure how you want to quantify Stronger...but SPORT RX8 are about an inch bigger diameter.
I expect that once we start breaking rears beyond 300 hp we will be using RX8 rears. Here are shots of the comparison. These items take some fabrication to get into the NC....NOT a BOLT in like the brakes.

Re: RX8 BBK on NC2 Questions ?
If the RX8 coilovers would work....would the Tein Basics be a viable option for us or do you think they would be to harsh?
The spring rates are high...448f/336r.

Re: RX8 BBK on NC2 Questions ?
Ride comfort is very subjective....might be too harsh for some, not too harsh for others. I run stiffer rates than this.o2cls wrote:If the RX8 coilovers would work....would the Tein Basics be a viable option for us or do you think they would be to harsh?
