Muffler suggestions for S/C car

Post by Bull Moose »

Howdy from Oklahoma. First post here.

I have an 02 Miata, with a Moss MP62 S/C. I am considering the RS-3 and Racing Beat single to replace the stock muffler. I do not track the car, and will probably keep the boost at the present ~ 6# level. I will keep the stock mid pipe untill the cat dies.

First and foremost, I do not want any drone at highway speed. Just looking for a little more growl on acceleration, without addidng to my ticket collection. Any performance gain advantange by either muffler? Does either one have a weight advantage?
02 Miata SE. MP62 S/C.

You really can't go wrong with either choice. The RS was designed on our 99 when it had the same MP62 supercharger that you are running now. Thus, we know that sound combination works out well. The Racing Beat uses an even bigger muffler and is even more mellow. So, both work well with the supercharger... the Racing Beat is a little heavier but the quieter of the two.
