NC fitment with RPF1 17x8 45et?

Post by TubeDriver »

I have searched but can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Will 17x8 45et Enkie RPF1s fit on an NC (currently oem suspension and factory alignment) with 235/40-17 all season tires (winter setup) without rubbing and requiring fender roll? If not, will a 225/45 help things out?

If the 45et wheel will work, what is the advantage of going with a 17x8 48et or 50et wheel?

Thanks.

The 225 clears, the 235 at 45mm needs fender roll.

As a practical matter most just get the 17x9 version for 235/40/17 because weight is almost the same and it gives you MUCH better performance for that tire size thanks to more stable side wall, more stable contact patch, etc.

If you don't want to fender roll, but you want that 235 width....then pick a 48 or 50mm choice.

This thread probably answers my question about 235/40s fitting under non-rolled fenders - looks like they won't. I don't want to roll them since I want to run C-stock autocross and it's a MS-R and still a hot C-Stock autocrosser. Rolling the fenders will kill the value of the car for that class.

Any suggestions for the best/biggest wheels and tires under stock fenders for street, track, and most importantly HSAX. Will that be 225/40 on 17x8 with 48mm offset? Does the MS-R suspension help?
edit: forgot to mention that I can only go one inch wider and be stock legal on HSAX - so that's 17x8.
thanks,
Jim

235/40/17 clears stock fenders at 48 to 50 offset.
