v8 miata wheel probe

Post by alsford »

going to be doing a 5.0 in a year or so after i sell my mustang. the v8 forum leans toward wide wheels and big rubber but i dont want to have excess unsprung weight.im looking at your lightspeed 7.5x15 32mm with 205 50 15 tire. according to 1010 offset calculator this would move the outside of the rim 27mm further out. this looks like i shouldnt have rubbing problems. in your opinion is this too small of a set for a v8?

I would prefer a 15x8 choice for better sidewall support of 225 wide tires if you plan any track days or autocross with this project... but that 15x7.5 will work great for a street car with 205 wide tires (and 225mm if you like). Light fender roll still may be required if NA Miata used for the project, even with 205mm tires.

thanks for the info i,ll mull on it awhile, yes its a 95 ,your answer reinforced what i was thinking. icould start with 205,s on while using stock engine, then go to 225 later with the same wheel. it will be a daily driver
