NC Header / Midpipe questions

Post by Carson »

Hi there,

I tried my best do search and look for the answer for my particular situation but wasn't able to find the info I need. Let me know if it has been asked before.

Currently my car has the MS CAI, and the RS dual muffler. It is nice and quiet, but I am in search for a little more power. The car is a weekend car that also autox and track, so it has to be very reliable, and has to be under 92db (local autox restriction).

My Questions:

- How many more HP can I expect to get with the RS mid pipe and header?

- How many more db will it likely go up by with my dual exhaust?

- How many more HP will I gain if I do the ECU refresh after this?

- What do I need to order? I assume I need the mid pipe, header (buying used from a friend), and some cable extensions for the O2 sensors?

Thanks a lot for your help, new to MX-5.

Regards,
Cars

It's all in the dyno thread, see the charts in that thread.... some torque gain over broad midrange from the midpipe but you need the header to get the bigger hp numbers, particularly at the top end of the rpms.

If you add our RoadsterSport header and midpipe you need both cables.

If you add only the midpipe you don't need the cables

Thanks Brian, getting the header from a friend, and ordered the cables and midpipe, looking forward to seeing the gain!
