Racing Beat Sways and Adjustable Links

Post by EarlJ322 »

I'm considering a suspension upgrade for my 2010 NC2. With the Racing Beat sway bars, are the adjustable links mandatory, or just a recommended option? Thanks.

Links not mandatory, we often skip them unless lowering the car significantly. Once we lower the car significantly the adjustable length links are a good tool to correct geometry (we want the bar ends level). Also, stock links might not reach all the bar holes that allow adjustment of bar rate.

Thanks. I need to keep this as a DD; am I safe with the Progress springs at about 0.5"? Not really concerned with the cost, just new to all of this and trying to make sure I get everything I need up front.

The Progress springs are what we used on my wife's daily driver, the results are great and the ride still very reasonable.

I commute 45 mi to work and again coming home everyday with my progress spring & sway + koni set up and I love it.

I have taken long road trips and loved it.

My 65 y.o. father has no problems with the ride either.

I never bottom either.

You won't regret it.

Thanks, James. I have a comparatively short commute and not a lot of miles on the car. My thought is to work in stages, starting with the Progress springs and RB sways. Then, once the Bilsteins are ready for replacement, the Koni's are on the list. I also want to drop height incrementally, 0.5" at a time, so that I can get a feel for the differences with each step.

I get the incremental change thing. I just couldn't afford it.

I did the koni's and springs (and bump-stops) all at once on my car mostly because it was 2-3x more work/$.

I am proud i did the suspension upgrades, but i never want to do it again. I will say that most of my difficulties were due to a lack of adequate tools and a lift.

I recommend that you consider the install costs as part of you decision. This is only in regards to the springs/shocks/bump-stops.

The anti-sway bar replacement in the front takes some elbow grease but nothing like dismantling and reassembling your springs and shocks.

Good luck with you project. you will be happy with whatever you decide. and good luck with you research ( i knos i spent what felt like hundreds of hours deciding how to upgrade my ride :? )
