Looks pretty cool. I wonder how much that mechanism weighs compared to the soft top. If the top panel is aluminum, it's probably not that much heavier.

Looks like a SmartTop might not be the best idea for the ND-RF, though. I'd hate to see how hard it is to get that folding mechanism aligned properly again if wind tweaks it because you're operating it at speed. :shock:

Yes I managed to watch the reveal in NY. Quite impressive. I like the Targa look and I'm sure it won't be long before Mods4Cars has a way to break the 6 MPH limitation of the RF.

Still waiting to see the specs and pricing. I assume there is still the central roof latch as in the NC.

Estimates of added weight vary from 150 to 200 lbs, but nothing official from Mazda. Sure is a looker, but probably mostly for the touring / GT crowd, as that's a lot of weight up high for the performance crowd. Still, I expect it will appeal to a wider audience and add to overall sales, which is good for all of us.
