Noise level

Post by JJMorgan721 »

Hi
I understand that you did extensive testing of sound levels with your new exhaust systems for the ND. Could you tell me how large an increase in volume INSIDE the cabin while cruising at highway speeds?
I am interested in you Q model but would prefer the Double Tip Street version when it comes out IF it doesn't make the cabin Db levels too high. We have very rough surfaces on our higheays here in Oregon and so the cabin is already pretty loud due to the tire noise. I also know you gave % increases in sound levels for each exhaust system on your website but I assumed that was registered at full throttle. Lastly, will the new double tip Street exhaust be slightly quieter than the regular street exhaust?

Thanks! Looking forward to doing business with you.

Hi Jonathan

The SuperQ is barely over stock sound level when you grab high gear on the freeway and cruise, so much so that many report at cruise that they don't hear any difference (but when you put your foot into it you do notice lower throaty bass notes). That's the benefit of the Helmholtz chamber, most effective with the top up on the freeway.

The new twin tip version of Super Street that we are working on is entirely different, much more aggressive, a lot more volume than SuperQ under all conditions.
