Regarding the Super Q baffles.

Post by Woo »

Does anybody know if the baffles reduce peak output?

Have any numbers?

The packed baffle in particular with it's ~1.42" ID seems like it would be quite a restriction compared to the ~1.85" ID pipe from the muffler and the ~2.4" ID tip.

Perhaps Brian has checked on the dyno.

Just wondering.

I did check that on the dyno years ago, don't recall the precise numbers but results did drop with the baffles inserted.

Thanks Brian.

I should have some VirtualDyno comparative numbers shortly, if the old computer holds up. Not sure you can run VD on a slide rule.

I'm currently running a SQST without baffle. I can't imagine anyone wanting it quieter.
But then, my neighbors are 300' away.
