New StopTech brakes installed for testing....
And....I hate them. Not every new test product works out, on the site but will add my comments right now that strongly suggest these are for dedicated track cars...ONLY. Constant pad knock and rattle will drive most folks crazy, even the street pads have the worst pad squeal I have ever experienced. And for all that they fit just about no wheels other than 6UL... unless you add spacers because despite less rotor diameter the shallow hats and that chunky caliper comes so far out in the direction of the lugs.

Yikes! Does Stoptech take improvement recommendations?

Yep, we will provide our feedback and product will improve. First editions of Stoptech kits for NA/NB had issues that cost our man Sean a track weekend, and yet our guys worked with them and improvements have resulted in updated kit now on Ryan's HyperMiata. So, we are not giving up....just not recommending first edition ND/Fiata kit at this time for anyone but hardcore dedicated track users. As for my cars....going back to Wilwood for now.

Turbo is OUT, Supercharger is back IN.
Supercharger back into the Race Blue ND for more testing. Reasons include AVO was talking about CARB certification but it has not happened, we are in California, so we are going to race the CARB setup. We learned a ton on the turbo setup, cooling challenges involved, etc. Going to apply those lessons learned to the supercharger setup and see how good we can make it. I don't expect to hit the 300 ft/lbs torque we got with the turbo setup but we don't need that much to win class with SCCA and have a blast.

Are you switching back to the long tube header and testing some more custom tuning with that on the Edelbrock?

Initially focused on cooling mods that we developed with the turbo on the car, want to see if we can get the supercharger stable and consistent for track use instead of power falling off with heat soak post the first lap like we had at Laguna last year.NathanD277 wrote:Are you switching back to the long tube header and testing some more custom tuning with that on the Edelbrock?

Had a question about whether RoadsterSport Front Shock Tower Brace fits with Edelbrock Supercharger.
YES...it does.

Hi Brian, I know your focusing on cooling at the moment. I’m wondering if there is definitive ceiling in terms of hp with the SC. I’m running your LTH with an E85 tune producing 180hp at the wheels. The turbos seem to kick butt on E85, but what about the SC? Someone on Miata.net installed a MiataSpeed custom pulley and was able to get more hp.
