New Good-Win Racing Project ND RF!
Re: New Good-Win Racing Project ND RF!
Impressed enough with the Conti that we now own two sets, one set of 16 inch on the Fiata, and set of 17 inch on the wife's RF. I take them off for Autocross days with the Fiat in favor of much faster Rivals, but for daily fun with comfort count me as a fan of the balance of good grip with good comfort.

Re: New Good-Win Racing Project ND RF!
Brian,
Are there any rubbing issues with the 225/45/17 tire size and the 17x8 6UL wheels on the RF. I'm thinking of using the 225/45/17 RE-71R with 17x8 6UL for a track day setup on my 16 ND Club with coilovers at a 13/13.25 ride height.

Thanks and that is great to hear. I'll order the 6UL's tonight and get some Conti's on the way as well. Would the 245/40/17 ECS be too wide and rub? I plan on getting the RF springs and Koni's later this year too. If the 245/40's are not recommended, would the 15/20 wheel spacers be a good idea for a nice looking wide stance? I don't think you are using them on the RF and your stance loojs really nice.Brian wrote:Impressed enough with the Conti that we now own two sets, one set of 16 inch on the Fiata, and set of 17 inch on the wife's RF. I'll order the McGard Spline Drive lugs and 8 of the 6UL valves too.

This will depend on how lowered you go, but no issues on my wife's RF at 13.5 all around currently.

Indeed 245/40/17 not recommended, and as you know that tire does not come in 235/40. Thus, looking at 225/45 and that's what I put on the wife's RF. That's plenty of tire for aggressive street fun, even with the supercharger.

Re: New Good-Win Racing Project ND RF!
Thanks again. I just placed my order for a set of 17x8 Tungsten 6UL's, the black McGard Spline Drive lugs, 8 Silver anodized aluminum valves, and the Hubcentric Ring set for the 6UL wheels.Brian wrote:The Captain wrote:Thanks and that is great to hear. I'll get a set of 225/45/17 Conti ECS's ordered as well and these will be saved until I sell my ST and get the LE RF. I'll add the Koni's and RF springs later this year and then maybe the Carbon Miata Grille with Halo Lights and a brake upgrade. Yes, I am copying your wifes car except for probably the supercharger, although that would be sweet.

Twin Tip Race or similar? I was actually going to ask if something like that was ever in the works as I really like the sound, size, and weight versus the RSTT.

Re: New Good-Win Racing Project ND RF!
This is full size, full weight, full SuperQ territory here. Picture may not make it obvious but significant U-turn Magnaflow and massive helmholtz. Weight is about equal to stock muffler, maybe a bit over. I must add the sound is just not right, at least not yet. Goals include works with supercharger for well controlled sound, design holds some promise, but not at the finish line yet.

Gotcha. I looked on my phone first and only saw the small can on the left but after opening it on my PC, I see what all is under there.
