My MZR powered NB race car

Post by BERG »

So I met Ryan at PRI and we are doing some things together so I thought I'd start a thread for my project. It is a NB with a MZR motor, Quaife sequential trans and some home brew suspension bits along with a bunch of stuff from Goodwin. Will try to get some pics up here soon. In the meantime here is a NC cage I'm working on.

So I started this thread will all the best intentions but have been plugging away and not posting. Here's a bit of catch up.

This was aligning the trans/motor/rear with my new laser tool. Amazing how important this is a 8k+ RPM

Image

motor installed for the second time... First one the motor was to far back and low. Would have been illegal for STU

Image

Side exhaust to make room for other stuff and the fact that a 3" pipe wont fit through the rear subframe.

Floor mounted Tilton pedal box

Image

Motor in with drysump mounted and -12 lines run. What a joy -12 lines are to make!

Oil tank and fire system.

You can upload them here with 'upload attachment' function. Normally can also link them in with "Img" button but I just tried it and cannot seem to make that work from the location they are stored, might be some copyright protection scheme they have with that storage.

Cooling pipe from the back of the head and expansion tank. Need to decide if the line from the tank should go into the rad or into the back of the head. Vent goes to the bung on the pipe.

Things are coming along! Header looks great. If you have a pic of the interlocking header template system you showed me, gotta post that too, very cool stuff.

Half the pics are working. That's also progress!

Looking forward to seeing an MZR NB making some people really scratch their heads.
