That's a Black Mica Mazdaspeed! only 417 were manufactured, 26 more than the 394 Lava Oranges made, however I never see the black MSMs. Way cool!

What a DAY!

So much fun to run with fast friends! Today we were on the smaller South East lot, course is cramped by comparison with our faster west lot events. Ryan had first run today, once we warmed the tires I had the first time in 61 range with 61.8. Buddy Scott Lewis then beat that and I got faster but not fast enough to eclipse Scott. Suddenly Ryan, an accomplished track driver but relative newbie for autocross, throws down a 61.1 to jump ahead of Scott and capture top PAX for the day, and Ryan backs up that 61.1 with another 61.1. Scott and I both fail to get under that number with our third runs and it as the day winds down I am thrilled for Ryan and thinking the game is over. Scott with his last run of the day then does a 60.6 and I am the last driver. I know I need to find time and I think about how I can be faster in a few places, lay down a 60.6 that is just faster than Scott's by .01. That's a slim margin of victory!
