Hello Everyone,
I sending this from the tip of Africa... and would appreciate your input.
In short I have a NC2 (PHRT) with a build 2.5 swap Turbo swop with ECU Master Black ECU track day toy.
Id appreciate some advise on spring rate for track use as I think my car isn't sprung stiff enough?
I currently have the following suspension setup:
ENDLESS - ZEAL Function-X coil-overs
Springs: 9k front - 8k rear
H&R ARB front and rear
Tomei 1.5 way LSD
Wheels: 17" 8j ET 40
Bridgestone RE71 235/40R17
Car weight: 2400lb
I am also in the process of going to a 255/40R17 RE71 wider tyre all round with a 9j wheel
Please feel free to comment on spring rate recommendations?
Also the car has quite a comprehensive groceries list, let me know if you would like more info on my build?
Thank you in advance
Oscar
NC2 2.5 Turbo from South Africa - Some suspension HELP please
Re: NC2 2.5 Turbo from South Africa - Some suspension HELP please
Hi Oscar,
So much depends on conditions of the tracks you run most often. If surfaces are good and newish and smooth then generally higher spring rates will enable faster car reflexes. I like the 8k in the rear and would consider more front, perhaps test 12kg or 11kg at front.
BUT, some of our tracks in the USA from Florida's Sebring to Willow Springs in California are really OLD and cracked up and rough surfaces and more compliance keeps the tires on the surface and springs can easily be too stiff for these locations.
Thus, much depends on quality of surfaces you run on most often...

Hi Brain
Thank you VERY MUCH for the feedback.
I was thinking along the same lines.
Our tracks are pretty smooth. We also do a few “auto cross” style event so I don’t think setting it up like a surfboard is a great idea?
Also I have the 9k’s up front that I can move to the rear.
I’m gonna start with a set of 11k in the front and check from there.
I’m also keen to fit your new vibration damper pulley and a set of stiffer engine mounts…
Hopefully I’ll be doing some shopping at GOODWIN RACING SOON!
Thanks again!!!
