NC Race Single Helmholtz vs Original “Q”?

Post by SunlightSilver »

I’ve got a 2014 vintage “Q” on my 07 PRHT. Engine, exhaust stock other than a tune.

Will I notice much of a difference in the sound from the drivers seat?

What about from the sidewalk?

Thinking of going the race single route, but wanted to ensure it’s a significant change. I think I’d like a more aggressive exhaust note than the Q provides.

Thanks!

Yes, Race Helmholtz is a universe away from the sound of any year of SuperQ.

Pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum. If you cannot hear the difference from the sidewalk or in the car we need to check your pulse because you might be dead.

Perfect.

When will the Black Friday sale end?

How would the sound of the race single compare to the original Q if I installed a header?

That seems more of a win-win…

Plus if the 2.0 blows, could use the header on a 2.5.

Note to anyone reading this...NO version of Race muffler suggested with header upgrades, that's a super fun but tiny muffler for otherwise stock NC. Totally overwhelmed on car with header upgrades, just not designed to handle that job. Product description very clear on this too, SuperQ is designed to handle massive rasp and volume of header upgrades. Big headers require a big muffler.

Exhaust Sale Ends TOMORROW.

What about just the mid pipe and single muffler? I did the duel tip GWR and with the baffle in every position still not loud enough so I added the GWR mid pipe and still not loud enough …. I’m just trying to get it louder. Will go to the single tip race muffler give me what I want?

With stock header for rasp control, i like our Midpipe and Race Helmholtz muffler. Midpipe does add more sound, but nothing like the rasp storm we get with header change.

So I say indeed try Midpipe if you want more sound.
