I recently purchased a mint condition '93 Miata. I'd like to upgrade the wheels and tires - for both handling and looks. I have heard a gread deal about being careful about weight. An additional consideration is durability - as some of the Back Roads here in NJ are in less than pristine condiiton! I was originally considering going to a 16 inch combo with a Black wheel (the car is Mariner Blue).

Future upgrades may include may include shocks / springs / brakes / braces / intake / exhaust. There are no immediate plans to race or auto-x, - just blow around the back roads of Western NJ / Eastern PA.

Any thoughts / reccomendations?

My suggestion is to stick to a 15 inch size which will go a long way to help achieve both the durability and low weight goals.
