I saw noticed 949racing will have a new 6ulr wheel coming out and there will be a 17x9 with 63 offset s2000 fitment...Is it possible to fit that onto a 06 mx-5?
Here's the answer from Emilio, owner of 949:Emilio,
I notice from your web site that you are planning a couple of 17-inch, 5-lug 6ULRs specifically for the S2000:
I know the NC uses the 5x114 bolt pattern, but with offsets in the range of +45 or +50 mm for widths of 6.5 and 7 inches. Do you happen to know if the 17-inchers will fit on an NC? If not, would you consider offering 17x9 or 17x10 wheels in NC-compatible widths?
So, the short answer is "no," but there is a NC-compatible 6ULR in the pipeline. The S2K wheel will not fit anything but an S2K, that's precisely why no one makes them but Rays in $600 forged wheels. We will be able to use the 17x9 tool to make a +45~+55 offset version that will probably fit the NC and a few other cars. Eventually, we'll have a separate medium offset 17 tool with a slightly bigger lip to fit STI, RX8, NC, Mustang and some European cars. We'll also do lower offset 17" wheel in the +20~+35 for the 350/370Z, G35, Evo et.al
