Mazda 3 Shock/Strut Replacement

Post by RUKnight »

Hey Brian,

Any thoughts on the new Koni STR-T's? My wife's 3 has a blown front strut and I'm looking to replace all 4. Don't want to lower the car and don't need anything stiffer than the OEM's shocks/struts. I spoke to Koni via email and they said they are slightly stiffer but are a great OEM replacement. Anything else I should be looking at?

I like the STR as a stock replacement. Only issue is that they have been so instantly popular that KONI is constantly on backorder. When I spoke with them last week I was told a few weeks before next batch. IF they got a surprise delivery from the factory today that they mentioned....let me know!

you wouldn't happen to have these in stock, would you? also, the product page says they are not compatible with the mazdaspeed3... why is that? i have a mazda5 that needs new dampers (AGAIN) and i would like to get koni's, but i don't want to spend the premium for the sport yellows. if i can get the STR's i would be happy.

It is a 2008 Grand Touring model. Sucks that I've had to replace the rear struts 3 times now! Fortunately, first two times were covered under warranty. The rear of the car needs more spring and better dampening. Can you also get Mazda5 H&R springs?

Do you know what the spring rates are?

Sorry, that setup sold out today. Got shocks but no springs for your Mazda5 currently. Got Koni SPORT shocks and Koni FSD today.
