NB shocks for NA Miata

Is it possiable to use NB shocks In a NA miata? Is there any advantage to this swap? If so what parts would be necessary for this to be done?
The lengths are different.
The issue goes away once we get into coilovers where we are dealing with shorter shock bodies with adjustable height. Likewise, with Koni RACE shocks we are using shorter shock bodies.
