Whats the best way to remove rusted-on hubs on NC Miata

I was trying to replace the front hubs on 2006 Miata. I was able to take off all 4 bolts. But the hub is so rusted-on, no matter what I did (penetrating oil, pound on it with a mallet, applied heat on the edges) I could not get the old hub removed.

The car is in NJ, it has the original hubs. It was used as a daily driver in all weather for 8 years, including extra salty winter roads.

Any hints.

The back of the hub is plastic. I've cracked one trying to hammer it out.
Go to your local autoparts store and see if you can rent a sliding hammer. Something like this:

That's how I was able to remove mine.

keep the brake disc mounted (or mount it back again)
grab the disc and move it in every possible direction, pull, push etc.
this is how I could get out mine
