Sounds like a winner! In addition to autocross and time attack, I've gotten into hillclimbs, and there you are ALWAYS on cold tires. Once they were heat cycled, my re71r were only coming in near the end of my run.

The other issue with hillclimbs is that you get 8 runs a weekend and all of them as a heat cycle, so tires seen to age more quickly there

Wow - that's a lot more splitter than seemed possible with the no more than 5" rule for street class. Amazing what determined minds and a plumb bob can create.

More finished looking air dam than expected with such short development time available. Looks like that air dam should help smooth airflow into the lower grill inlet, as well as to the sides. The front fender flare and outer fence combination should help to maximize downforce while protecting those wider tires from direct frontal airflow impact.

Major kudos to Modi and Ryan for finishing what looks to be a solid aero package in such a short time. Hoping they can get it dialed in front to rear with just a few laps and show the competition some NC awesomeness. Pretty ballsy to hit such a big time race with a completely new aero package on the car that hasn't seen any track time yet, but believe they can pull it off.

Still concerned about how that rear valance potential air grabber will behave at 140 to 150 mph on the big straights. Should be possible to do a quick modification between runs to fold the section between the tops of the exhaust outlets forward and reduce some drag there - if the rules allow.

Bad luck, transmission failure in first session...and it was a Walter built 6 speed that was working perfectly last weekend and right up until we put car on the trailer. Team reports what happened is the CLUTCH failed and seized, and that then took the transmission with it.

Team has a spare, they are doing swap now. Picture from before first session.

Bummer, but stuff happens. Team was prepared, did a quick swap of the transmission and they are back in action! They have turned down the boost to help the backup trans live the weekend.

Just ran final session of day 1 at Superlap Battle USA and shaved 5 SECONDS off!

Ryan reports car is feeling good, making more changes for day 2 to get it really dialed in! :D

Moti of Blackbird Fabworx, our wizard of aero, hand made canards for the NC last night to give us a little more front end bite. We’re hunting for even lower lap times at Circuit of the Americas today!

Burned out a set of rotors after last weekend and yesterday, doing quick swap after session one. Session one matched PB from yesterday, seeking more speed in session two!

Just saw Ryan do a quick interview and looks like Moti also built fender flares for the front of the rear wheels, and did some speed tape on the headlights.

You guys were in such a hurry to get this thing ready to go that the current configuration isn't quite clear. Can we get an update on sway bars and bracing (if any) currently on the car? Looks like the front brakes are still the Goodwin budget Wilwood big brake kit vs the intended Stop Tech kit.

Hopefully the fresh brakes, and potential boost increase in the final session will allow Ryan to cut a few more seconds and climb up the leader board a bit more. Pretty tightly grouped in the middle of the class currently, so every second can mean a place higher or more.

Surprised to only see one Miata on the competitor list this year - thanks for representing
