I have a 2000 Miata with 76k miles, drove only 1500 miles last year so mostly short trips once or twice a week.
Recently, I'm having an issue where I will first start it with no problem but if I run a quick errand and go to start again, it will just crank for a while. It eventually starts after a few tries. I'm afraid it will eventually not start and will kill my starter etc. Any idea where I would start? Maybe I just need to clean the intake etc? It runs perfect otherwise or after a few hours.
NB Miata start issues after warm up
Re: NB Miata start issues after warm up
Any codes?
Otherwise start with the basics, clean and gap plugs and replace as needed, plug wires too. Consider new coil/ignitor if over 50k miles on what is in there. Clean throttle body (see miata.net threads with pics) including idle air control valve.

No engine codes, thanks for the other input.
