SLWKRT (Slow Kart): My attempt at self-control

Hello everyone. Just picked up my 2022 Ford Maverick XLT this week. Loved them since the day they were announced. Finally found one with the specs I was looking for and a price that was "reasonable". Hard to turn down a 2.0T, AWD, heated seats, remote start, and tow package in a daily driven MI car.

Not planning to mod this one nearly as much as the car it replaced (I went all out). Aiming for simple mods that allow me to keep my MPG, have a little fun, and not void the warranty. @Brian is making me lean heavily towards lowering the truck. Though in MI that's always a gamble. Plus it limits the potential off-road shenanigans.

Plans:
Suspension - Shocks/springs/camber adjustment/sway bars
Engine - MRT Exhaust
Brakes - Pads/rotors/lines
Protection - LineX bed liner and under coating

Pics of the Maverick the day I bought it, plus one of the previous project it replaced.

So about that self-control…

A big thanks to MRT Performance for squeezing me in tomorrow morning. Going to get the exhaust done so I can actually hear the truck. Also getting the front tint to match the rears later that day.

Also, my brother has a 17 Escape and is in need of new tires. So my factory wheels and tires are coming off. It might look a little goofy with Turbomacs on 235/60/18 and no drop, but worth it if it fixes his dad mobile. The day the Good-Win lowering springs ship I’ll be ready.

No muffler is 100% the way to go. It is just the right amount of growl. Thanks again to MRT.

Thank you. Definitely geeked with the result.

Also got the front windows tinted to match today and ordered my Turbomacs/AT tires. Figured since I live in a less than hospitable climate half the year that going rally focused would be better.

Now I just need some Good-Win drop springs and the real fun begins. Sno*Drift is only three months away.

I have always wanted these wheels. Finally have a vehicle that they fit. So a little bit of Turbomac and Wildpeaks to start the rally build.

Thank you. I have loved them for years. Just never had a vehicle with the right fitment. Once I settled on rally, it was the obvious choice.

Wheels and tires got put on before Christmas. What a difference good tires make on this truck.

Springs and sway bar showed up this week. Just waiting on SPC to tweak their front/rear camber kits so I can get everything installed.

Been a slow winter up here. Roof is now wrapped satin black, side markers tinted, windshield banner with embossed "Good-Win-Racing" logo in place. Springs and sway bar are on. Now it's time to figure out some new skid plates, mud flaps, and spray-in bedliner.
