Attaching shoulder belt to Blackbird RZ rollbars

Post by DougA371 »

I'm looking into purchasing a racing seat for my 2016 Miata. I currently have the Blackbird Fabworx RZ Roll Bar installed. Does anybody know how to attach should belts to the roll bars.

There's a horizontal tube on the roll bar behind the seat - that's the harness bar. You wrap the shoulder harnesses around it like any other harness bar.

Guides for how to wrap harness straps on a bar:

If you have the factory interior plastics installed, that bar is under the plastics, so you will need to cut a long slot, or a pair of slots in the plastic for the harness straps to pass through. Start with removing the plastics first, installing the harness straps on the bar, check alignment of the shoulder straps relative to whatever seat you have, and take measurements from there to determine where to cut the slot in the plastics.
