'99 exhaust upgrade

My plan is to upgrade the exhaust on my ’99 Miata this winter. My car has an automatic trans (A/T) with the federal emission system (vs the Calif double cat).

It seems like the RoadsterSport 3 muffler is a no-brainer (based primarily on Miata.net reviews). My question is - will the muffler fit my A/T car? Note I plan to utilize the OEM mid-pipe.

I also want to dump the cast iron exhaust manifold. I understand that none of the aftermarket headers will fit with the A/T. Thus my plan is to replace the manifold with an OEM ’01 – ’05 header. Any comments on this plan considering I would like to utilize my OEM downpipe and mid-pipe?

And finally, any leads on where I might obtain an ’01 – ’05 OEM header, heatshield, and EGR tube?

No help here on the header because I have not tried to change the header on an autotrans NB so I am not sure what issues you will encounter...

Yes, the RoadsterSport will fit your automatic.
