Cold air or Short ram intakes??

Post by popo74 »

Hi Brian and all the mx-5 lovers out there!! :D
Just wondering what's the biggest diff. between cold air and short ram?
(beside their appearances)
and the pros and cons about them??
I live in a place where it rains ALOT in the winter time, I remember some years back, it rain almost 200 days!!!
will cold air intake have an effect on wet roads with alot of water puddles??
tks guys..

Have not had chance to play with a short ram on NC yet so really can't say what the effect will be on this application. It would be fun to dyno head to head an AEM short ram design and the current unit but until that happens on an independent dyno, I am going to suspect that a short ram setup on the NC will give up some low and midrange torque in favor of more upper rev range hp.
