Transmission swap

Post by ohnedich69 »

I currently have an Automatic Transmission in my 93 Miata.

Its a fun car to drive but a manual would be better.

I have found a transmission to swap with but i dunno if there any parts i need to make it all work.

I would buy a new miata with a manual but im in love with this one especially since its a 93 with only 50k on it..

what parts should i get if any needed?

Hi ohnedich69,

I replied to your other post about headers but I will add a bit here. A transmission swap is expensive and more work than you would imagine! You would be much better off buying a car with a manual transmission from the factory and making it your mod toy.

You could always keep your '93 as the daily driver and get another Miata in manual trans. 8)

That's good advice. It would be easier and cheaper to simply get another Miata with manual trans.

Low milage Miata's aren't that hard to find.. It's very common for someone to have a daily driver and a Miata for the weekends ..

Best of luck to you ..
