Need Advice and Feedback for my Mazda 3
I just recently bought a new 07 Mazda 3 hatchback. I'm a noob when it comes to modding and I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas to increase my performance and horsepower. My budget is $500, so I was thinking of an AEM intake and a new muffler. Does that idea sound good? Should I get anything else? Should I wait longer since my car is new? Thanks.
Hi Kevin,
Yes, start with the easy stuff like the AEM intake. The exhaust is just a little more work to get in so I would do that second. No reason to wait on mods, many folks have the intakes installed before they leave the dealer lot (Mazda sells the AEM intakes as Mazdaspeed intakes at a significant mark up...).

I have a couple other questions for brian or anyone else that would like to help me out.... which intake would be better for my mazda 3, http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Pe ... -1166.html or http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-23448.cfm and would this be a good muffler for my car? http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts-mu ... ctInfoTabs and do you think it would fit on my car? i'm not sure how to find out
I strongly agree awith this statementBrian wrote:Hi Kevin,

Definately go with the cold air first! I would not suggest the purchase of just a muffler, as you'd be better off going with a full cat-back exhaust system. That being said, you may want to consider going with the intake alone and pocket the rest, or spend a little more (before install) and pick up the Eiback ProKit, http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Pe ... -1241.html
The intake gives you a very nice growl, while the springs dramatically enhance the overall look and dynamics of your 3.
