Well, I've dug a little deeper, and am being pointed in the direction of 13x8s with 215/50-13 V710s for my class. I think this might be the right way to go.

I would NOT recommend that combo for SM2 unless you like spinning your wheels and going nowhere. Sorry, but that was competitive and popular combo for CSP a decade ago and the CSP guys are putting down a fraction of the power that a SM2 Miata will. Even the fast guys in CSP have moved beyond that setup now. If you are just looking to have fun that will be fun and slow, with zero chance of being competitive.

Most of these guys have moved to at least 225/45/15 and some are preparing for the new Hoosier 275/35/15. The consensus among the fast SM2 crowd with NA or NB generation Miatas is that the future belongs to the competitors that can harness that new Hoosier in 275/35/15. Because otherwise our customers in the 2006/2007 NC Miata will be uncatchable with the 285/30/18 combos we are putting on all four corners of the new Miata.

This car is a street driven toy, that I will jsut be running locally for fun. I really am not looking at having to roll/modify the fenders, and form what I have read, that would be necessary if I wanted to run any of the larger (15") Kumhos. Those 275 Hoosiers sound great, but that will take some serious sawzall work to make them fit.

The max you can fit without taking the saw to the fenders is 225/45/15 and that will fit on your 99 at the 40mm offset. We have a 15x7.5 wheel for that. That's my recommendation for the guy that does not want to cut fenders...I ran the same combo when I ran SM2 in my silver supercharged 99 Miata that you see next to our logo at the top of every page here.
