Koni and RB spring install, what wuii be a good AX tuning

Post by senda »

Hi.

I install the koni + the RB springs on my NC in Monday. i have an AX in Saterday. in Friday i am going to tune the pront and the Koni.

The front will be set to max camber and caster. but what will be a good start for the AX tune?

The AX will be slow and technical:

The problem is that wont be exect as the picture.

The slalom is 50 secound (there and back) and we are doing it onle 3 times. then the top 5 going to the final.

In the first time i went to the final but i hit a cone and got the fifth place, now with the koni i want podium :!:

So did you tune koni before??

Do somebody have a good tip (ait presure??)

Thanks

No I do not run Koni with my NC, I run something else.

Rule of thumb: Set the rear softer than the front. No need to max out camber and you wn't be able to anyway. about 1.8 to 2.0 front is a good. As for rear, around 2.0 to 2.5. Toe out the front for better turn in but more tire wear. Toe in the rear for more stable corner exit.

Tire pressure is all about balacne between wear and grip. Higher you get sitffer sidewall but less grip, softer you get softer siderwall but more grip. There is always a magic number with just high enough not to roll on sidewall and low enough to maximize the grip. Play with it. For the stock Michellin, I prefer around 30.

NC Alignment and shock settings.

My NC currently looks this:

FRONT
-2.5 camber
1/16th toe out per side
6 degrees caster

Rear
-2.2 camber
TOE ZERO

RECOMMENDED for all other R compound tires:

FRONT
-2.2 camber
1/16th toe out per side
6 degrees caster

Rear
-1.8 camber
TOE ZERO to negative 1/16h toe per side

RECOMMENDED for STREET compound tires and street users who do lots of freeway driving:

FRONT
-1.2 to -1.5 camber (the lower number for those who do lots of freeway driving)
1/16th toe IN per side
6 degrees caster

Rear
-1.2 to 1.5 camber (again, those with long commutes should keep to the lower range of the camber setting)
TOE IN of 1/16th per side
